The Opportunity:

Safety-Kleen located in Fallon, NV is seeking a Refinery Engineer Intern. The ideal candidate will need 30-40 hours a week of time to dedicate to this role; a new graduate or student who is graduating soon would be the ideal candidate for this role. This position will be a temporary opportunity for 6 months.

We are looking for a candidate who wants to gain some experience working in a facility environment. This job is for someone who is comfortable getting out from behind the desk and wants to work in a refinery environment. This internship would help with critical projects, developing/writing SOP’s, learning the processes’ that are currently in place from the staff that is currently working in different roles, and working alongside staff to implement more effective ways to reach targets/KPI’s.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Work on critical projects at the refinery facility;
• Write SOP’s to increase productivity and efficiencies;
• Work alongside the current staff to understand if there are improvements that could be implemented;
• Looking at KPI’s to help drive process improvements;
• Work with the facility management team to accomplish a common goal of reliability and run ability.

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred or someone currently attending school;
• Chemical Engineering is preferred, however Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil will also be considered;
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to professionally communicate verbally all levels and functions of the organization individually and as a team;
• Strong organizational skills with increased attention to detail;
• Knowledge of regulations is an asset;
• Strong project management skills;
