The Opportunity:

The Finance Director is the business partner of US Industrial Services business. This role is responsible for continuous improvement and works with Executive/Senior/Vice-Presidents and Regional Managers to ensure that financial data is maintained and reported in a timely and accurate manner.

The role provides an opportunity to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment leveraging cross-functional teams that has an impact on future investments within Clean Harbors’ Industrial Services Business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Provide financial leadership and support for business segment and operations leadership;
  • Provide value-added analysis and reporting to segment leadership to help drive profitable growth in the business and achieve business targets;
  • Oversee and complete monthly closing of all Profit and Loss (P&L) activity; Analyze Revenue and costs incurred for various tasks and specific jobs vs. expectations;
  • Effectively communicate and present financial results of the business to Executive Management, including processes and procedures critical to the generation of timely and accurate financial results. Recommend areas for improvement from any unfavorable trends;
  • Lead and execute completion of annual budgets and presentations to Leadership Team;
  • Coordinate and complete monthly forecast and identify variances to actuals/budgets;
  • Utilize and improve use of information systems, including ERP system, Microsoft Office Suite, TM1, and Power BI;
  • Manage and lead a team of 4-5 Regional Finance Managers;
  • Responsible for reading, comprehending, and following the applicable narratives pertaining to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements;
  • Responsible for reporting to supervisor potential control deficiencies noted, procedural changes that have occurred or may occur which may require update to SOX documentation, and for suggesting; improvements to the financial control environment;
  • Responsible for timely and accurate submissions to auditors when questions arise surrounding audits and control testing;
  • Special projects as required.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required;
  • 10+ years in accounting or finance related positions;
  • Possess general accounting experiences and skills;
  • Proven information systems/accounting software and Expert excel skills;
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines and adjust accordingly;
  • Must be an analytical and flexible thinker with a high attention to detail;
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and with people at various levels in the organization.
