The Opportunity:

Clean Harbors Cleveland, OH is looking for Industrial Field Laborers, known internally as an Environmental Technician, to join their safety conscious team! The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials. This is a physically intensive position and requires a clean shave to wear a full face respirator.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities that deal with biological, chemical and etiological materials;
• Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions throughout the day;
• Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights;
• Operates light and heavy equipment including: skid steers, forklifts, oil spill booms and vacuum equipment.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors? 

• Valid Driver’s license is required;
• Minimum 6 months experience in industrial, construction or other physically demanding experience required;
• Ability to work flexible shifts including morning, overnight, weekend and holidays;
• Due to the emergency response and operational nature of the position, it will require on-call availability that will rotate;
• Available for overnight travel about 15% of the year.
