Job Description

The Opportunity:

Clean Harbors is currently seeking a Hazardous Materials Technician to work at a customer site in Mesa, AZ.  The successful candidate will be working on site in Mesa and will be responsible for segregating, identifying and packaging waste; drum handling and staging of waste pick-ups. Additional responsibilities may include decontamination jobs, chemical delivery and assisting with weekend household hazardous waste events.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Ensures at Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
• Conducts chemical bulking/consolidation
• Packages waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
• Ensures work area maintained in a neat and orderly manners
• Participates in spill response on customer’s site
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
• Safe loading and unloading of waste hauling vehicles
• Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

• 1+ years of previous hazardous waste experience
• Ability to use handheld computer devices
• Valid Driver’s license, clean 3-Year MVR
• HAZWOPER certification an asset
