Laboratory Technician II

The Opportunity:

Safety-Kleen East Chicago, IN is looking for a Lab Technician II to join their safety conscious team. The Lab Technician is responsible for the routine analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.

Shift: 10 pm to 6 am Monday-Friday.

Key Responsibilities:  

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Performs basic analysis of samples following prescribed procedures;
• Utilizes basic instrumentation;
• Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion;
• Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines;
• Performs cleaning and general housekeeping of work area. 

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen? 

• BS in Chemistry or related science is required;
• 1+ years of previous lab technician experience is required;
• Previous experience with ICP or GC analysis is preferred;
• Valid driver’s license required;
• Experience with utilizing computer software preferred;
• Willing to work third shift from 10 pm - 6 am.
