InSite Technician - Wilmington, DE

The Opportunity:

Clean Harbors in Wilmington DE is looking for Material Handler to join the team.  Known internally as the InSite Technician you will be responsible for assisting in the collection, identification, and proper packaging and/or lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at this specific location as well as spill response activities on site. Must be able to work outdoors.  This position offers company training to acquire a CDL Class C Driver’s License.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
• Responsible for collecting, identifying, and packaging Hazardous waste produced within customer facility
• Prepare waste drums for pick-up and delivery
• Answer phone calls and manage customer request
• Maintain cleanliness of work area and grounds
• Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements
• Ensure drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance with the policies and procedures of Clean Harbors.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Valid DL & clean driving record
• Ability to obtain/retain Class B CDL with Endorsements upon hire
• Experience with handling hazardous materials is a plus but not required
• Strong customer service skills
• Local travel as business demands require.
• College degree in chemistry, biology or other natural science preferred but not required
