Our Calgary, AB location is currently looking for a Geo Spatial Analyst to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and manipulating the Lidar point cloud to improve its correctness, including implementing company procedures, and ensuring the highest level of integrity and accuracy of the Lidar data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes;
  • Copy and organize the incoming Lidar data from the field according to company procedures;
  • Assess and if necessary, correct miscalibrated Lidar data from the field;
  • Create derivative products such as Geo-tiffs to edit and ensure the QC of the data;
  • Monitor integrity of the data and vertical accuracy of the Lidar point cloud;
  • Visually inspect the point cloud and derivative products and make corrections to the Lidar classified point cloud following company procedures;
  • Report any anomalies and deficiencies in the data to the supervisor;
  • Perform QC on edited Lidar point cloud;
  • Maintain daily records of production in conjunction with other employees. 

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Post-secondary in Geomatics or Geography preferred;
  • Knowledge of software, specifically MicroStation and Terrasolid is an asset;
  • Understanding of various Geo Spatial formats;
  • Previous experience manipulating Geo Spatial data is preferred;
  • Effective communication and organizational skills;
  • Independent and able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time.
