Clean Harbors Environmental Services is seeking an entry level Terminal Operator in Mahopac, NY. The ideal candidate will be highly interested and motivated in joining an organization dedicated to career development.

Your career progression with Clean Harbors:

  • Terminal Operator I.  As a Terminal Operator I you will start your career learning about our internal procedures for processing terminal paperwork, meeting compliance deadlines for receiving and shipping waste.  Once you successfully complete the initial 90-day employment review period, you will progress to Terminal Operator II.
  • Terminal Operator II.  As a Terminal Operator II, you will take on additional responsibilities to include, transfer coordination and execution of proper paperwork for drum and build liquid management, monitoring and ensuring that all key deadlines are met within the timeline established and monitored by our internal and governing compliance representatives.  Once you have successfully complete 12 months in this position, you will progress to Sr. Terminal Operator.
  • Sr. Terminal Operator- MiT leadership development trainings etc.

In this position the Terminal Operator I will be responsible for loading and unloading tanker trucks located in a Tank Farm environment.   In this position you will be responsible for taking samples of materials (can we be more specific –Oil)? transferring materials (is this via drums – Transferring drums throughout the facility using a forklift).   And monitoring the process flow (what exactly is being monitored Oil .  CHES offers all full-time employees tuition reimbursement, OJT and company provided CDL training/

Your On The Job Training (OJT) will consist of training on the following:

  • Day-to-day planning, transfer coordination and execution of proper paperwork for drum and bulk liquid management;
  • Monitors and ensures that all key deadlines are met within guidelines from onsite Facility Manager and Sr. Terminal Operator;
  • Ensures proper follow-up procedures are implemented to ensure proper drum transfer compliance requirements; ten (10) day compliance periods;
  • Communication to proper management on issues related to compliance, DOT and other issues that could impact the business and compliance.
