The Opportunity

Clean Harbors Norwell, MA is looking for a Waste Acceptance Specialist to join their safety conscious team! The Central Profile Representative determines safe, compliant, and cost-effective disposal options for a variety of hazardous and nonhazardous waste materials. They will determine the best disposal option based on physical, chemical, and regulatory information in the profile and will approve waste into the Clean Harbors network of facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Assist customers (both internal and external) with regulatory and technical issues;
  • Work closely with the Company's Compliance and Health and Safety Departments to ensure adherence to Federal, State, and local regulations as well as conformance to facility permits;
  • Determine safe, compliant, and cost-effective disposal options for a variety of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials;
  • Find the best disposal option based on physical, chemical, and regulatory information in the profile;
  • Approve waste into the Clean Harbors network of facilities;
  • Provide prompt and thorough review of waste profiles. The review process may include making inquiries about, and/or corrections to chemical or  regulatory information in the waste profile. 

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • B.S. degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related field preferred;
  • 2+ years in a technical capacity within the Hazardous Waste or Environmental Services;
  • Industry experience preferred;
  • Knowledge of Environmental Regulations, including RCRA and DOT; 
  • Strong computer skills, interpersonal skills and be detail oriented;
