The Opportunity

The Facility Manager, known internally as an InSite Program Manager leads and manages a team of employees in supporting the execution of a client’s facility management program.  The InSite Program Manager serves as the client’s main contact and primary interface with Clean Harbors on a daily basis. The facility Manager will manage all aspects of the contract, including: Direction of the Service Providers on-site supervisor personnel, overall program management, training, environmental and safety programs, financial, performance and quality, reporting, planning, setting priorities, and directing daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Manage all aspects of the contract, including: Direction of the Service Providers on-site supervisor personnel, overall program management, training, environmental and safety programs, financial, performance and quality, reporting, planning, setting priorities, and directing daily operations. 
  • Manage Building Services equipment and supplies, have technical expertise and operations to meet operating goals, client objectives and customer needs. 
  • Implement safety and good housekeeping practices and become knowledgeable of the Detroit Diesel Building Services specifications as well as the National and Local Union agreements and policies. 
  • Communicate effectively with the Plants senior management and plant contacts, and their own Service Provider staff. 
  • Attend all relevant meetings such as safety, staff work planning, over-time planning, business updates, and so on and will generate all required reports.  

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required 
  • 5+ years of facility management experience;
  • Management experience in areas of budgets, record keeping, supervision, planning and liability;
  • Ability to develop and deliver training materials and programs related to environmental health, safety, and hazardous materials management;
  • Familiarity with regulatory status requirements of Small and Large Quantity Generators, such as RCRA, DOT etc;
  • Knowledge of National and Local Union agreements and policies;
  • Computer proficient and able to use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook;
  • Requires sitting, standing, walking, puling and/or pushing, stooping and crouching;
  • Requires lifting, carrying, grasping, speaking and listening.
