Responsibilities

The Incineration Blends Chemist is responsible for developing the waste mixtures to be processed and burned through the facility’s incineration unit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Performs analytical review of all waste in effort to develop a production plan for the unit
  • Directly oversees the scheduling of waste materials into the facility
  • Develops production plans and sequences for the Operations Manager(s) and/or Supervisor(s)
  • Completes all required paperwork associated with tracking the waste blends/mixtures
  • Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines and compliance parameters of the unit
  • Responsible for problem-solving when results fall outside of mandated specifications
  • Responsible for end of month inventory reconciliation and management
  • Works closely with plant management to implement operational improvement strategies to maximize efficiencies throughout the unit
  • Other duties as assigned

 What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • HS Diploma
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or another science-related field (Preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of Chemistry, Math, and Chemical Testing
  • Proficiency with Windows-based computer applications
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
