The Opportunity

Clean Harbors Canada is looking for an experienced Health and Safety Representative to join their safety conscious team! This role is responsible for providing complete, thorough and professional health, safety and environmental advice; for promoting a positive safety culture and for anticipating and assessing health and safety hazards.

The role is located in southern Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Clean Harbors Field Operations, Ontario Canada and beyond
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority
  • Leadership by example when it comes to safety rules
  • Coach internal customers how to follow through with Clean Harbors’ safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct health and safety inspections, observations, audits, compliance monitoring and investigations in industrial settings
  • Assist with weekly safety meetings and daily toolbox meetings;
  • Assist in the development of procedures and hazard assessments;
  • Coach management and supervisory teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance;
  • Customer focused in providing Safety programs for Clean Harbors’ customers.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • University degree
  • Ability to serve internal customers within a team setting
  • Understanding how to apply Health and Safety laws to an industrial setting
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ Health and Safety experience in an industrial setting;
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certification preferred;
  • Class 5 Driver’s License;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills
