The Opportunity

Clean Harbors is seeking a Compliance Specialist for our El Dorado, AR faciltiy. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for working with the Compliance Manager as well as facility personnel to ensure conformance with all licensing requirements and permits in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times; 
  • Examine records of incoming waste shipments and prepare written communication to customers to resolve discrepancies
  • Complete and submit semi-monthly Compliance inspection reports
  • Assist the Compliance Manager with on-site inspections, training and conducting tours of the facility
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all environmental permits, regulations/regulatory requirements, and industry changes
  • Maintain inspection, inventory, and other files including but not limited to training records and documents
  • Notify Compliance Manager of any incidents/accidents
  • Perform other duties and tasks required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • College Degree
  • 2+ years of compliance experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) laws/regulations preferred
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
