The Opportunity

Clean Harbors Red Deer, Alberta is currently looking for a Class 3 Chemical Driver to join the Chemical Cleaning safety conscious team! This position is responsible for operating industrial units for the transportation of hazardous and nonhazardous waste from a client site to our Clean Harbors facility and/or an outside disposal facility. Please note that this role is 90% operating and 10% driving.

Please be advised it is mandatory for candidates to hold valid First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSO/CSTS safety certifications prior to starting this position. Proof of certifications will be requested during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Driving, operating, and maintaining chemical cleaning units;
  • Loading and unloading the units;
  • Rigging the equipment in and out;
  • Blending chemicals into the circulating units;
  • Completing pre and post trip inspections, field level risk assessments and other related paperwork;
  • Performing general shop duties and labourer tasks as required.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Must hold valid First Aid, H2S Alive and CSO/CSTS certificates (will be required to provide proof prior to first day);
  • Class 3 license is required;
  • Previous commercial driving experience is required;
  • Ability to drive a manual transmission required;
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and be on call 24/7;
  • Previous experience in the oil and has industry is an asset;
  • Chemical cleaning experience is an asset;
  • Willingness to travel up to 2-3 weeks at a time;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients.
