The Opportunity

Based in Bristol, CT our Wastewater Treatment Operator offloads and performs required treatments on bulk loads and completes tasks associated with filter press and atomic absorption unit operations. This position includes a 2 month training program. 

HOURS: Monday - Friday 10:00- 7:00.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies and processes, and acting in a safe manner at all time
• Assists with offloading inbound tankers
• Performs treatments on bulk loads
• Safely runs Centrifuge or filter press
• Collects water, storm water and liquid waste samples by following proper procedures
• Performs accurate manual calculations of flow rates, pumping times, chemical pump draw downs, etc. as required
• Accurately records data readings
• Orders chemicals and keeps track of the chemicals used
• Completes checks on outfall flows
• Completes and submits all associated paperwork, as required, for regulatory and safety record keeping requirements

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors? 

• Previous wastewater treatment operation experience in a facility preferred
• Previous sampling and testing experience
• Atomic absorption unit and/or filter press experience is preferred
• Proficient with MS Office Suite (specifically Excel)
• Valid and clean drivers’ license
• Available for overnight travel
