The Opportunity

Safety-Kleen Salida, CA is looking for a Warehouse Material Handler to join their safety conscious team! As a Warehouse Material Handler you will be tasked with working in the warehouse managing inventory and loading and unloading trucks, as well as providing coverage for our Tanker & Box Truck Drivers. The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Unload route truck containerized waste in evening and reconcile waste;
  • Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs;
  • Stock warehouse with materials after Distribution Center truck arrival;
  • Prepare waste loads for shipment to Recycle Center/Distribution Center;
  • Empty and fill drums of solvent mineral spirits;
  • Perform minor repairs on parts washers at warehouse;
  • Operate forklifts, trucks, and other equipment throughout the yard as needed;
  • Picks up waste oil at customer locations, driving a class B tanker truck;
  • Delivers chemicals in 15 & 30-gallon drums, driving a class B box truck;
  • Other duties as required.

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

  • Must have a Valid Drivers License,High School diploma or equivalent required;
    • Willing to obtain Commercial Driver License upon Hire (Class B);
  • Hazmat endorsement, or the ability to obtain;
  • 1+ year warehouse or related work experience preferred;
  • Forklift experience preferred;
  • Basic computer skills.
