The Opportunity

Clean Harbors West Sacramento, CA is looking for an Environmental Field Technician to join their safety conscious team! Technicians perform tasks associated with hazardous waste clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, demolition, emergency response, and general handling of hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities that deal      with biological, chemical and etiological materials;
  • Performs labor intensive activities in all weather conditions;
  • Works in atmospheres with low clearances, confined spaces and at heights;
  • Operates hand/power tools and light equipment including, but not limited to: Pumps, vacuum equipment, oil spill boom, generators, bobcats, forklifts, mechanized sweepers, pressure washers, air compressors and miscellaneous support gear as required.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency;
  • 1+ years of construction or general labor experience;
  • 40hr Hazwoper certification Preferred;
  • Valid Driver’s License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record;
  • Must be comfortable wearing a respirator, cleanly shaven, and comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements;
  • Safety oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies;
  • Ability and willingness to travel for extended periods of time and to work on an on-call basis.
