The Opportunity

The Facility Maintenance Planner is responsible for maximizing operational profit through the use of effective planned maintenance. The Facility Maintenance Planner is accountable for the daily preparation of repair orders, parts availability inquiries, schedules maintenance in accordance with manpower and shop space availability to minimize maintenance delays and maximize asset availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage Repair Orders for the Facilities Operations in local and remote locations;
  • Follow repair process from beginning to completion;
  • Communicate status of repair timeline to all necessary parties;
  • Assist in the logistics coordination of assets for Facilities;
  • Track repairs in the Clean Harbors Asset Management system including repair order notes, quotes, inspection forms, purchase orders, inventory parts and final invoices;
  • Code repairs for financial review;
  • Review repair orders and identify areas where repair cost can be reduced or eliminated;
  • Update asset management system with asset attributes, such as manufacturer, model number, pictures and others.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems and processes preferred;
  • Knowledge of Industrial facilities and equipment used such as; pumps, motors, fans, conveying systems, hoists and et;
  • Ability to create actionable items out of data and information;
  • Strategic planning, coupled with tactical execution;
  • Ability to use computer and applicable company software;
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications - MS Excel, MS Outlook;
  • Able to apply standards and processes that maintain regulatory compliance;
  • Strong leadership and personnel development skills;
  • Financial understanding, with the ability to set strategy against financial goals;
  • Understanding of metrics that drive asset performance;
  • Ability to facilitate/train others, and ability to navigate and handle difficult conversations.
