The Opportunity

Our Red Deer, AB location is currently looking for a Field Chemist to join the safety conscious team! The successful candidate will be responsible for driving to customer sites to load drums, pails and totes of waste and to transport the loads to appropriate Clean Harbors facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Perform Lab Pack Coding/Processing including disposal of chemicals, consolidation of lab packs and compliance with all Applicable EPA and DOT regulations.
  • Responsible for completing all paperwork associated from start to finish.
  • Sampling of incoming drums and analysis of samples.
  • Performs duties related to shipping and receiving of contents.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Class 5 license required, Class 3 is preferred;
  • 3-5 years of experience working with hazardous materials or Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry required;
  • Previous experience with shipping and receiving is an asset;
  • Safety tickets such as First-Aid, WHMIS, and TDG an asset;
  • Ability to take direction, work independently and in team environment.
