Responsibilities

Our Fort Collins, CO InSite branch is currently seeking an InSite Chemist. This person would be responsible for assisting in the collection, identification and proper packaging and/or lab packing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at this specific site location as well as spill response activities on site.

This position is not in a typical lab setting, this position requires up to 100% field work in various working conditions, mainly in an industrial refinery setting with hands on physical labor tasks associated with the position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Health and Safety is our number one goal! This is demonstrated by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Loading, packaging and segregation of materials and waste products;
• Servicing drum/waste collection areas ensuring supplies are provided, drum labelling, drum inspections;
• General warehouse housekeeping;
• Spill response activities, including spill containment, equipment and environmental decontamination, etc;
• Uses Microsoft Office and web-based programs to enter material information;
• Completes and submits all associated paperwork as required for waste tracking movements;
• Ensure drum count is correct and that drum conditions are shippable in accordance to the policies and procedures of Clean Harbors.

Qualifications:

• Previous general labor/construction experience required;
• Previous environmental/waste management/spill response experience an asset;
• Degree in Sciences (i.e. Chemistry, Biology, Environmental) a strong asset;
• Driver License and 3 years clean MVR preferred, to operate company vehicles on site;
• Basic computer skills, experience with Microsoft office and web-based programs an asset;
• 40 hour OSHA Training an asset;
• Ability to travel up to 5% of the time in the event that help is needed at another facility.
