The Opportunity

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray, AB (98FBG) is looking for a Swamper to join their safety conscious team! You will be responsible for working on High Pressure Units, Water and Vac Units as well as Combo Units. You will be performing duties related to industrial cleaning whether it be in confined spaces or at heights.

Please be advised it is mandatory for candidates to hold valid First Aid, H2S Alive, and CSO safety certifications prior to starting this position. Proof of certifications will be requested during the recruitment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Under direction of the Operator, operate and stage various units;
  • Assists with pre and post trip inspections as required;
  • Performs all duties related to Industrial cleaning including entering confined spaces with a supplied air breathing apparatus and working at heights with appropriate securement;
  • Ensures cleanliness of equipment;
  • Works as part of a team with Customers, Coworkers & Supervisors.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Must hold valid First Aid, H2S Alive and CSO certificates (will be required to provide proof prior to first day);
  • Class 5 Drivers License required;
  • Minimum of 1-year experience assisting Operators on High Pressure Units and Combo Units;
  • Minimum of 1-year oilfield experience;
  • Previous experience in labor-intensive role;
  • Capable of working outside in various weather conditions for extended periods of time;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment.
