The Opportunity

 

Safety-Kleen in Dolton, IL is looking for a Tank Farm Technician to join their safety conscious team!

As a Tank Farm Technician, you would load and unload bulk solvents from tankers and rail cars in our tank farm. This position is 75% outdoors and would require a reliable individual who doesn’t mind physically intensive work.

The shift for this position is Third Shift: 11 pm to 7 am, Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Performs hands on operations such as tank farm operations and loading and unloading tankers and rail cars;
  • Driving the spotter / yard truck (small tractor that moves around semi-trailers);
  • Transferring solvent throughout the tank farm and facility;
  • Operate a forklift when needed;
  • Complete general warehouse housekeeping and preventative maintenance as needed.

 

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

  • Previous experience working in a tank farm is preferred;
  • Previous experience driving a truck (spotter/yard) or heavy equipment is a strong asset;
  • Previous forklift experience is an asset;
  • Valve and Pump knowledge is an asset;
  • Must be able and willing to be clean shaven and wear a respirator;
  • Ability to work in adverse environments (cold/heat);
  • Fork lift and DOT training highly preferred;
  • Accountability and punctuality.
