The Opportunity

Safety-Kleen in Wichita, KS is hiring a full time Relief Driver/Material Handler to join their safety conscious team! You will operate Class B box trucks and vacuum trucks, filling in for other drivers on their local routes, picking up waste oil, selling and servicing parts washers, as well as working in the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, as needed.  Flexibility, sales aptitude, and strong customer services skills are required for this job. Paid CDL training is available!

Key Responsibilities:

  • May visit 8-12 customer sites per day, when operating as a relief driver;
  • Interact with customers, provide services, upsell and expand route;
  • Pick up waste oil at customer locations driving a Class B Tanker Truck;
  • Deliver chemicals in 15 & 30 gallon drums in a Class B Box Truck;
  • Manage inventory in the warehouse;
  • Load and unload trucks and containerized waste;
  • Reload route trucks with supplies and equipment for next day’s runs;
  • Stock warehouse with materials after Distribution Center truck arrival;
  • Prepare waste loads for shipment to Recycle Center/Distribution Center;
  • Housekeeping in branch (sweeping, cleaning, straightening);
  • Empty and fill drums of solvent mineral spirits;
  • Perform minor repairs on parts washers at warehouse;
  • Other duties as assigned

What does it take to work for Safety Kleen?

  • 1+ years previous warehouse, shipping and receiving or tank farm experience is strongly preferred;
  • Forklift driving skills are preferred;
  • Class B CDL license preferred, or ability to obtain upon hire (CDL Training provided for the right candidate);
  • Previous route servicing or sales experience strongly preferred;
  • Ability to use mobile computer required;
  • Strong customer service background;
