The Opportunity

Clean Harbors Fort McMurray, AB is looking for an InSite Health and Safety Representative to join their safety conscious team! The Health and Safety Representative provides comprehensive Health and Safety direction,  support and guidance to the Insite Operations Team. This includes providing guidance and direction to employees, management and various personnel on implementing our Live it 3-6-5 safety culture and promoting continuous safety improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Audit performance and compliance with Health and Safety policies, programs, and procedures;
  • Identify new Health and Safety programs needs or changes to existing programs;
  • Assist in completing incident investigations;
  • Support the Insite Operations leadership team by co-developing Safety Meetings topics designed to promote a better understanding of Clean Harbors and or Client Health and Safety focus areas;
  • Conduct, daily, site Health and Safety observations and audits to assure compliance with Corporate Health and Safety policies, programs, procedures and guidelines, and reinforce proper practices needed to maintain safe Operations and work environment.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • 5+ years of progressive Health & Safety experience;
  • NCSO Designation required;
  • Class 5 driver’s license required;
  • OH&S certificate is an asset;
  • CRSP designation is an asset;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Tap Root and or DNV-SCAT Root Cause Analysis methodology is an asset;
