Overview

SHIFT:  4 10-hour days Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon

The Facility Operations Supervisor This position will supervisor 4-5 people, including chemists and technicians. This will be a salaried position that will work four 10-hour shifts. Friday and Monday will be double up days with first shift production and this supervisor will assist with either facility special projects or catching up on discrepancies.  Saturday and Sunday they will be sole leadership on site to manage a 10-hour shift. Must be safety conscious. Must have good computer and communication skills. Saturday and Sunday will be a mix of offloading trailers and then clearing out facility inventory. These days will have less facility activity so need a self-starter that will take on anything within the facility. Having the shift offload additional trailers, having the shift clear out all electronic process, have the shift clear out all bulking, or clear out the outbound inventory. This will be the multi-tasking and clean up shift. Looking for someone that has an interest in bouncing around and being the closer. Successful candidate will spend 90 days training with the other shifts before being turned free to the weekend shift. The right person will love the idea of bouncing around whatever is left to finish. Someone with field service or project experience might have a good mind set for this. This will be a little different then regular shift work and will be more aligned to how field service goes, which will be taking on whatever jobs are left to be done.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Performs multiple site-specific plant operations, including, but not limited to, drum pumping, tank transfers, tanker truck and rail car sampling/offloading/loading in compliance with DOT requirements, operation of distillation equipment and scanning applications for waste tracking;
  • Supervises multiple Solvent Process Operators and Tanker Truck /Rail Car Loaders/Unloaders and plant operations.
  • Ensures that employees follow and maintain all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures, holds employees accountable.
  • Ensures that supervised operations/employees understand and have ownership for area specific permit required compliance standards.
  • Works under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager or equivalent.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

Qualifications

  • Forklift training/experience
  • Ability to work in team environment.
  • Proficiency in Windows based applications
  • Ability to work a rotating shift (nights and days)
