Overview

Clean Harbors is looking for a Laboratory Manager at our San Leon, TX location.

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the complex analysis of samples to determine their chemical and physical properties.  The Lab Manager oversees all lab operations and integration with other parts of the company/facility.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner always
  • Maintain a safe work environment that follows all state, federal and company regulations
  • Performs complex analysis of samples following prescribed procedures with the ability to solve problems
  • Performs complex analysis of samples following prescribed procedures with the ability to solve problems
  • Maintenance of equipment, including outside vendor scheduling per maintenance contract schedules and suggests solutions to equipment problems and new/replacement laboratory equipment
  • Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion.
  • Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines

Qualifications

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors as a Lab Manager?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or a related science highly preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Prior supervisory experience (2+) is preferred.
  • Experience with QA/QC, Lab certification and production required
  • Working knowledge of ICP, IC, and other laboratory instrumentation required
  • working with metals required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills
  • Ability to build rapport through regular conversations with staff
