Our Clean Harbors St Paul, MN location has an opening for a Health and Safety Manager (HS&E) to work at a client facility located in St Paul, MN. 

This challenging Health and Safety Manager (HS&E) role is an opportunity to build an impressive Health and Safety career. Provide comprehensive safety and health direction and support to multiple lines of business and their related hazards including hazardous waste, chemical, physical, respiratory, fall protection, high pressure cleaning, confined space as well as lock out/tag out hot work. In this demanding, field-based role you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment in a company fully committed to safety.

Clean Harbors Safety Professionals handle a variety of work situations such as emergency response work, refinery facility work, special requests by customers, decontamination, spill clean-up, incident management and some demolition.

                                                                         **Duties will include working Turnarounds/Shutdowns when needed***
 

                                                    ***Not an office-based position; will be working in the field managing the safety program***

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions, investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions and manage safety permits and required paperwork.
  • Manage employee safety training programs and coordination.
  • JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and manage safety equipment inspections.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors and client specific processes and expectations.
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting.
  • Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance.
  • Establish relationships with client safety department.
  • Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and can direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments.
  • Inspects assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance and hazard analysis issues.
  • Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures/practices; Recommends corrective actions and mitigations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • 2+ years of progressively responsible and related experience in an industrial setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good knowledge of basic computer programs, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Knowledge of the following is preferred: First Aid, Confined Space and Fall Protection
  • TWIC Card or ability to qualify for TWIC Card a must.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and recording requirements.
