The Opportunity

Lonestar Calgary, AB is looking for a Hydro Vac Technician to join their safety conscious team! This position is responsible for assisting our Hydro Vac Operators on a variety of customer sites to operate units in performing Daylighting and Excavation activities associates with pipeline, construction, utility and oil terminal work. Position may require travelling away from home for 1 week at a time or more.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Assisting Hydro Vac Operators in the safe operation of all units;
• Completing tasks associated with Daylighting, Excavation, Trenching and Shoring;
• Ensuring the job site placement of the truck is safe, stable and secure;
• Rigging equipment in and out;
• General clean-up and maintenance of units upon completing of the job;
• Completing all required paperwork on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• Position may require travelling away from home for 1 week at a time or more;
• Previous Hydro Vac Swamping experience is an asset;
• Class 5 Drivers’ license is required;
• Ground Disturbance certificate is an asset;
• Previous Industrial or Oil Field experience in a labour-intensive role;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety-focused environment;
• Ability and willingness to work on an on-call basis.
