Overview

The Vice President of Fleet Maintenance is responsible for the oversight of the fleet maintenance and asset refurbishment operations organizations within the US and Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Direct oversight of the maintenance personnel (US and Canada), who oversee asset maintenance, internal maintenance facilities, and construction of new facilities and infrastructure and achievement of overall maintenance spend and equipment reliability per asset type targets or objectives by location;
  • Responsible for profit and loss (P&L) performance of all operating groups under the maintenance operations group;
  • Define and implement the asset maintenance operations business strategies and repair recommended practices. Manage the entire fleet maintenance program. Set standard operating procedure for all types of maintenance to be followed throughout the Company;
  • Manage the capital budget as it relates to asset and maintenance facility repair and equipment;
  • Monitor performance and interact with local, regional managers, and senior managers regarding general maintenance and repairs of vehicles and equipment; ensure that the fleet needs and policies are consistently being met;
  • Oversee inventory of assemblies and components for asset maintenance and the entire MX organization;
  • Oversee all maintenance facilities throughout the MX network. Work with the asset management team as needed to build out preventative maintenance schedules, campaigns, and specification;
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, federal, and provincial record keeping, as well as other regulations as required;
  • Work directly with OEMS for training, parts pricing and stocking, warranty, and technical servicing of product;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years relevant experience;
  • 2 years college or specialized training in mechanical/operations training required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
  • Technical knowledge of Heavy Duty vehicles and equipment;
  • Understanding of P&L statements;
  • Managerial skills;
  • Ability to use PC applications;
  • Valid Driver’s License;
  • Ability to travel 25-50%.
