Job Description

Overview

The Survey Rover works with the seismic survey crew and is responsible for operation of GPS survey equipment to stake out and survey seismic shot holes and receiver point locations on a green area survey program.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Proper placement of survey points;
• Identifies and trains properly mark hazards encountered;
• Understands shot point skidding and offsetting procedures;
• Regularly inspects equipment;   
• Operates multiple survey tools including but not limited to handheld GPS units, Trimble R8 GPS and compasses;
• Ensures daily paperwork is filled out timely and correct;
• Operates a UTV/ATV;
• Collection of field data to ensure accuracy of program map;
• Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required;
• 2+years of seismic work experience;
• Valid driver's license;
• H2S Alive, Standard First Aid certifications preferred;
• ATV/UTV training;
• Mechanical aptitude;
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme cold and hot environments;
• Ability to walk 7 km’s per day in difficult terrain;
• Strong communication skills;
• Strong work ethic with an ability to work independently and in a team environment as a contributing team player.
