HPC Industrial has an opening for a Health and Safety Field Representative!

This challenging role is an opportunity to build an impressive Health & Safety career. Provide comprehensive safety & health direction & support to multiple lines of business & their related hazards including hazardous waste, chemical, physical, respiratory, fall protection, high pressure cleaning, confined space as well as lock out/tag out hot work. In this demanding, field-based role you will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment in a company fully committed to safety. HPC Safety Professionals handle a variety of work situations, emergency response work, refinery facility work, special requests by customers, decontamination, spill clean-up, incident management & some demolition.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Plant Environment

LOCATION OF WORK: 90% Travel @ Various Customer Locations as needed

WORK SCHEDULE: 12 hour shifts / days & nights as needed

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring that Health & Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, & processes & acting in a safe manner at all times
  • Conduct health & safety inspections, audits & interventions, investigate, oversee, & observe safety conditions & manage safety permits & required paperwork
  • Assist with employee safety training programs & coordination
  • JSA’s (job safety analysis), JHA’s (job hazard analysis) & manage safety equipment inspections
  • Provide guidance on HPC Industrial & client specific processes and expectations
  • Respond to emergencies & incidents & manage injury & accident follow-up & reporting
  • Coach teams to further enhance their safety responsibility & performance  
  • Establish relationships with client safety department
  • Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments & can direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments
  • Inspects assigned work areas & equipment to identify compliance and hazard analysis issues
  • Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures/practices; Recommends corrective actions & mitigations
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

What does it take to work for HPC?

  • 2+ years of safety related experience in an industrial setting
  • Strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of the following is preferred: First Aid, Confined Space & Fall Protection
  • TWIC Card or ability to qualify for TWIC Card a must
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and recording requirements.
