Responsibilities

Job Title: Juinor Associate/Associate/Senior Associate - Procurement

JOB SUMMARY
The Purchasing Associate/Senior Associate is responsible for maintaining the Purchasing database and assisting the Procurement manager. Ensures information entered the purchasing database is accurate and has proper approval prior to entry, Maintains PeopleSoft item database, which includes creating item IDs, processing item links, updating pricing, and creating item catalogs.

Functional Requirement:

  • Creates Purchase Orders (POs) and change orders.
  • Assists the Procurement Manager in researching cost reduction ventures.
  • Maintains accounts for selected National Vendors.
  • Reviews and approves invoices as assigned by Procurement Manager.
  • The Specialist Purchasing performs a variety of administrative, system maintenance, field interface, and purchasing duties. Maintains the purchasing / item master databases and participates in the procurement of supplies, vendor relations, program management, and user training.
  • Works with new or existing vendors to develop relations and research cost reduction opportunities; analyzes and recommends options.
  • Maintain accounts for selected national vendors.
  • Review and approve invoices as assigned by procurement manager.
  • Conduct purchasing data analysis assign by Procurement Manager to support cost savings initiatives.

 

Job Descriptions:

  • Maintains PeopleSoft vendor database, which includes creating new vendors, processing address changes, and creating vendor reports.
  • Assists with training new users on the purchasing system.
  • Trains and supports field personnel on purchase order processing and troubleshooting to ensure accuracy and integrity in the purchase process
  • Process supplier credit applications in line with Clean harbors legal and risk management policies
  • Process all field issued Vendor Information Requests (VIR).
  • Perform Supplier negotiations, request for proposals (RFP) and Request for Quotes (RFQ) with regional and local suppliers that are not under the national preferred vendor umbrella
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of Clean Harbors business.

Qualifications

Technical Skills:

  • PC skills: Microsoft Word and Excellent excel.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines.

   Required:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Any Degree.
  • 0-3 years purchasing support experience.
