The Opportunity:

Our Technical Specialist role will provide a wide range of technical support to all areas within the blended oil group. It will include the development and testing of new products, provide field support as required, support corporate training initiatives, and assist with bid work, product crossovers and comparatives to support ongoing market expansion and growth. Reports to the Technical Manager and Technical Services.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create training documents for all segments of blended lubes
  • Includes training modules for MOS/ AM/ OSSR that will be facilitated by Clean Harbors training team
  • Help create and solidify content for initial training
  • Provide R&D support through lab blends and analysis
  • Guidance on technical content of product data and spec sheets.
  • Competitor product comparison and bid product crosses.
  • Training documentation for new products, segments and applications
  • Scoping customer needs for larger technical projects or needs.
  • Work to support Fleet Team expansion and increased market share.
  • Direct market Lube Sales Professional for SK. 
  • Provide resources for technical data generation in support of KPP marketing.
  • Other duties as required

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

  • 5 -10 years of progressive experience within the lubricant laboratory, manufacturing, or technical industry required.  
  • Laboratory experience with viscosity, XFR, ICAP a plus.
  • Experience in a lube refining business a bonus.
  • Experience working closely with the top Lubricant Additive Industry.
  • Experience working closely with OEM technical management.
  • Bachelors in Science or equivalent qualifications.
  • Willing to travel 10-20%.  Varies based on time of year and program/customer support needs.
