Clean Harbors is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join our team in Edmonton! The HR Generalist is an important member of our field HR team and is responsible for day-to-day execution and support of our HR programs, practices, and policies. This role will work closely with the Canadian Field HR and operations teams to enable an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing: empowerment, quality, productivity and the ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Conduct/maintain a continuing study of all HR policies, programs, and practices.
  • Assist and support HRBP’s/HRD with employee and industrial relations activities, including investigations.
  • Support the execution of programs such as performance management, employee engagement and training initiatives.
  • Track and report on metrics and special initiatives to help support HRBP’s, HRD and managers.
  • Develop and distribute communications and information to managers and employees.
  • Support recruitment team with hiring events and recruitment initiatives.
  • Provide support on special projects and initiatives.
  • Maintain corporate culture of excellence and enforce company's key values.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field;
  • 3+ years of relevant Human Resources work experience;
  • Previous Oil & Gas, Industrial, or Construction industry experience considered an asset;
  • Ability to multi-task multiple projects and priorities, work under pressure and meet varied deadlines;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong PC Skills: Proficient in Windows based applications;
  • Ability to travel 15% of the time based on business demands;
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
