The Opportunity:

Our North Las Vegas, NV location is currently seeking a Refinery Operator. The Operator Oil Recycling is responsible for tank re-refinery process operations, recording tank gauge readings and for completing tank transfers and other associated paperwork along with assisting other team members when required.

Shift: 3pm-3am Thursday, Friday, Saturday and will alternate Wednesdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Samples process streams and assists with tank farm operations;
  • Gauges all process tanks every hour;
  • Completes tank transfers to control inventory;
  • Obtains routine process samples to verify product quality;
  • Switches and changes process filters;
  • Assists other operators – will be cross trained on other duties/shifts for vacation coverage;
  • Completes housekeeping tasks within the refinery;
  • Loads and unloads tanks and or rail cars;
  • Able to work independently, without direct supervision.

What does it take to work for Thermo Fluids Services?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
  • 1+ year of previous experience, preferable in an industrial environment (refinery, processing plant or production/manfucturing experience);
  • Introduction to vacuum distillation would be an asset;
  • Basic math skills are required;
  • Understanding of Process Controls or Blueprints an asset;
  • Experience using pumps an asset;
  • Willing to work weekends per schedule above;
  • Lock out tag out understanding an asset;
  • A teamplayer required;
  • Previous forklift experience is an asset;
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
