The Opportunity:

The IT Audit Manager plays a key role within the Internal Audit team. This individual adds value to business units, functions and departments by performing information technology audits, providing guidance on risk and related control activities, including control design and operational effectiveness, preparing draft reports for Internal Audit Management review. The Senior IT Auditor collaborates with process owners and management and reports and / or gives presentations in a professional manner, working closely with Internal Audit Management.

 Keys Responsibilities   

  • Responsible for managing the Sarbanes Oxley ITGC project including partnering with IT management and external audit ensuring efficient and effective testing with the goal of facilitating an opinion on controls.
  • Ensure projects have appropriate level of audit evidence and work paper preparation to support observations, conclusions, and recommendations and ensures projects follow established standards and methodology.
  • Plan IT engagements by obtaining sufficient knowledge of the business and/or functional IT processes under review.
  • Develop, review, and provide feedback on work programs, reports, and work papers prepared by audit team members. 
  • Conduct/organize entrance and exit conferences with IT management following completion of reviews.
  • Assist in the management of resource allocation for the department along with the development of the annual IT risk assessment and related audits.
  • Lead and train teams on projects, while partnering with management and business owners to identify and test controls.
  • Coordinate with other audit team members, assistance in developing audit procedures and techniques to effectively perform timely audits.
  • Stay informed of current industry best practices, accounting and auditing standards and apply new techniques as appropriate. 
  • Projects a positive and professional image and serves as a professional role model for peers and others.
  • Effectively utilize information technology such as data mining applications like IDEA to develop, review and provide feedback on work programs, reports, and work papers prepared by auditors.

  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, information systems, information management or related college degree required.
  • Five or more years of external and/or internal auditing experience required, big four experience a plus.
  • Professional certification required, CISA (Preferred) or CISSP.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with General Computer Controls and Application Controls, including Change Control, Systems.
  • Knowledge of Development Life Cycle, Application Security, Disaster Recovery, Data Warehousing, Operating Systems and Databases.
  • Direct experience performing Sarbanes-Oxley Act 404 audit planning and testing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication / presentation skills for both IT and Business Management.
  • Sound project management skills as evidenced by performing multiple, simultaneous audits, or equivalent engagement/project experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of IIA Standards.
  • Strong knowledge of the COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies) and COSO (Committee of Sponsoring Organizations) frameworks.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and IDEA.
  • Experience with Oracle/PeopleSoft, highly desirable.
