The Opportunity:

The Vice President, DSO Improvement will lead the company's DSO improvement - from customer set-up, to on-going maintenance, to managing exceptions and problems and holding various stakeholders accountable for collection of responsible revenues. The VP, DSO Improvement will be the company's subject matter expert for all areas impacting DSO (Terms negotiation, billing processes/3rd party systems, purchase order capture and measurement, collection/cash application and dispute resolution.) This position will also work in concert with Sales, Customer Service, Invoicing and Collections and well as field operations where necessary to perfect the process and resolve issues. Hold various owners responsible for executing and escalate issues for prompt resolution.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Responsible for hiring, training and managing team members involved with certain aspects of the DSO process (Collections, Cash Apps, Customer PO Director and their team) (US and GCC).  Build rapport and interact with other key groups (billing, collections, Sales, ops);
  • Document the process flow from Quote to Cash and identify all areas impacting DSO to include initial customer set-up to order set-up, order execution to billing, cash application, disputes and collections. Recommend improvements;
  • Hold owners and other employees accountable for their assigned responsibilities impacting DSO;
  • Develop and enforce training related to anything related to processes impacting DSO. For SKE, IS, TS, BPS etc. Enforce training for AM, CAM, CASR, CSR, FSR, ISR, etc;
  • Participate in senior management meetings related to DSO, collections and other key areas;
  • Participate in system enhancements - help define changes to logic and or workbenches;
  • Be the company's champion for DSO. Participate in calls/meetings and other forums to educate and enforce rules. Enforce rules and escalate abuse/issues to ultimate resolution to include reducing bonus compensation for sales and operations;
  • Become personally involved with more complex, difficult and older issues to resolve them. The may include direct customer contact;
  • Assure key workbenches, tools and reports are working properly. Master the logic behind all PO related systems;
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • 10-15 years relevant experience in financial management;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business required; Master's degree preferred;
  • High problem solving skills and root cause identification in areas of customer facing roles (i.e. collection, billing, customer service);
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams both internal and external to organization;
  • Experience using Common reporting tools, MIS systemns and database familiarity;
  • Negotiating skills, rapport building, dedication to accountability;
  • Ability to travel 10%.
