Safety-Kleen is seeking a Laboratory Manager at our Lexington, SC Facility. This individual will be responsible for responsible for supervising all lab employees as well as, ensuring adherence to regulations and rules. This individual will also be responsible for approval of waste steams and conformance to profile and lab planning, scheduling, production goals and budget goals.

Responsibilities:
• Non-conforming waste entry/ calls to branches
• Analyze oil samples using ASTM or EPA approved methods for PCB, metals, Flash point, TOX, and other testing as required
• Maintain lab certification by successful participation in any proficiency testing protocol and obtaining a passing score
• Track production and complete reports in a timely manner so as to keep the workflow of the terminal progressing
• Review SOP’s, Logs, analytics
• Maintain the lab in a clean, organized manner
• Maintain all laboratory instruments according to the manufacturers recommendations in a timely manner
• CHP and SOP training
• Ensure WAP and quality assurance compliance with methods
• Order supplies/ write up orders
• Other duties as required


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, in physical/natural science majors-chemistry preferred. Alternative combinations of education and experience not accepted in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of previous experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience working in both GC & ICP
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Supervise and organize workflow
• Computer skills to manipulate data and track production
• Review analytical output w/ defensible data as goal. Ensure all quality control is within EPA ranges
• Attention to detail and the ability to multitask is critical for successful performance
• Update SOP’s annually
• Apply sound management practices
• Knowledge and compliance of regulations, waste analysis plan, CHP, SOPs
• Promote teamwork within lab and plant environment
• Project management Problem solving ability
• Work independently
