Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for a full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, and counselling of Clean Harbors Accounts payable staff;
  • Ensures that invoices and expenses are processed accurately and timely;
  • Partners with other Clean Harbor's departmental divisions to ensure the timely payment of invoices and expenses;
  • Accountable for providing guidance and training to internal Clean Harbors Accounts Payable staff; not limited to vouchering process, filing of invoices, mailing cheques, retuning vendor phone calls and correspondence, and answering status questions from vendors;
  • Accountable for reviewing vendor statements and resolving discrepancies to vendor inquiries;
  • Ensure the input of key vendor invoices in a timely manner; including but not limited to utilities, lease payments and consolidated corporate accounts;
  • Ensures voucher groups are verified in a timely manner;
  • Oversees the successful mailing of weekly check runs;
  • Supervises the process for cheque requests in accordance with company policy. 

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.  Associates Degree preferred;
  • Accounts Payable experience required; PeopleSoft experience preferred
  • Driven self-starter possessing critical thinking, problem-solving skills along with an appreciation for detail

  • Effective communication and teambuilding skills combined with an ability to manage multiple on-going tasks
