The Opportunity:

HPC Industrial Services is currently looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join our safety conscious team. The manager will oversee/increase daily maintenance/project work one account through optimal utilization of operational resources and providing recommendations for automation and enhancements that generate additional revenue. Serve as liaison between branch management/sales group and customer to ensure compliance with Company’s purpose and priorities.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
  • Conduct health and safety inspections, audits and interventions, investigate, oversee, and observe safety conditions and manage safety permits and required paperwork;
  • Manage employee safety training programs and coordination;
  • JLA’s (job loss analysis), JHA’s (job hazard analysis) and manage safety equipment inspection, testing and supply;
  • Provide leadership and guidance on Clean Harbors specific processes and expectations;
  • Respond to emergencies and incidents and manage injury and accident follow-up and reporting;
  • Coach, manage and supervise teams to further enhance their safety responsibility and performance;
  • Establish relationships with client safety department;
  • Demonstrate proficiency at a wide variety of assignments and can direct personnel in operational procedures to complete assignments;
  • Inspects assigned work areas and equipment to identify compliance issues;
  • Documents safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures/practices; Recommends corrective actions;
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible for field EHST safety compliance, safety training/practices, OSHA compliance and conducting safety audits/job site inspections. May supervise one or more Branch Safety Supervisors and will work closely with Client safety representative and branch management to ensure adherence to Company’s safety policies and procedures

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Refinery experience
  • College safety courses or safety certification (OHTT, CSST, CHST, COSS)
  • 2 or more years of industrial safety experience, preferably in the industrial cleaning environment
  • TWIC Card or ability to qualify for TWIC Card a must;
  • At least one of the following certifications: OHST, CSST, CHST, COSS.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and requirements
  • Knowledge of company safety policies/procedures, industrial cleaning equipment and instant job hazard recognition.
