{"tool":"get_job","result":{"requisitionId":"164857","client":"Clean Harbors Corporate - USA","title":"Lab Chemist II","description":"Lab Chemist II<br><br><strong>Monday - Friday</strong><br>Position Summary<br><br>The <strong>Lab Chemist II</strong> is responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses and laboratory testing to support quality control, production, and compliance requirements. This position works hands-on with chemical substances, samples, analytical equipment, and testing methods while following all Health & Safety, operational, and compliance procedures.<br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br>Responsibilities<br><ul><li>Perform chemical analysis and testing of samples while following all Health & Safety, operational, and compliance standards.</li><li>Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses using established laboratory procedures.</li><li>Complete all required digital and physical documentation associated with laboratory analyses accurately and in a timely manner, including calibration logs, run logs, and testing records.</li><li>Calibrate, maintain, and operate various types of analytical laboratory equipment in accordance with established procedures and the chemical hygiene plan.</li><li>Follow laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and complete required annual SOP reviews and quizzes.</li><li>Properly manage chemical waste generated during laboratory testing and analysis.</li><li>Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory work environment.</li><li>Monitor laboratory supplies and communicate inventory needs.</li><li>Follow OSHA requirements and established laboratory safety procedures.</li><li>Train and mentor new hires as assigned.</li><li>Occasionally operate a forklift as required.</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br>Qualifications<br><ul><li><strong>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred.</strong></li><li><strong>3-5 years of related laboratory experience.</strong></li><li>Alternative combinations of education and relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.</li><li>Hands-on experience working in a laboratory setting.</li><li>Experience with chemical testing and analysis.</li><li>Experience operating, maintaining, and calibrating analytical laboratory equipment.</li><li>Experience working with chemicals and properly handling chemical waste.</li><li>Forklift experience preferred.</li><li>Solid understanding of chemistry, math, and chemical testing.</li><li>Knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety requirements.</li><li>Knowledge of OSHA regulations.</li><li>Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.</li><li>Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate laboratory documentation.</li><li>Basic computer skills.</li><li>Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Ability to train and mentor new employees as needed.</li></ul>Preferred Training<br><ul><li>24- or 40-hour OSHA training and annual updates preferred.</li><li>DOT training preferred.</li></ul>Physical Requirements<br><ul><li>Ability to perform medium physical work.</li><li>Ability to stand and/or walk for approximately 4-6 hours during a typical shift.</li><li>Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs.</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. from the ground to waist level.</li><li>Ability to frequently bend and climb.</li><li>Ability to climb up and down vertical ladders.</li><li>Ability to reach, squat, stoop, and kneel as required.</li><li>Ability to reach outward, overhead, and downward while exerting force as needed.</li><li>Good hand/eye coordination.</li><li>Depth perception and visual acuity necessary to safely perform laboratory duties.</li><li>Ability to distinguish colors as required for chemical testing and analysis.</li><li>Ability to safely work in a laboratory and chemical environment.</li></ul>Equipment & Driving Requirements<br><ul><li>Occasional operation of an automatic-transmission forklift.</li><li>Occasional driving may be required.</li></ul>Clean Harbors<br><br>Clean Harbors is the leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
