This role ensures the safe handling, accurate documentation, inventory management, and compliant processing of incoming and outgoing waste while supporting efficient facility operations.<br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br>Responsibilities<br><ul><li>Receive, inspect, sample, and analyze incoming hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials in accordance with the facility Waste Analysis Plan (WAP) and company procedures.</li><li>Profile, code, and process incoming waste using company systems to ensure proper handling, disposal, routing, and billing.</li><li>Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) activities while maintaining accurate laboratory records and documentation.</li><li>Consolidate, repackage, and bulk compatible waste materials while safely handling hazardous and reactive chemicals.</li><li>Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments in compliance with DOT regulations and company logistics procedures.</li><li>Stage waste for shipment to approved disposal facilities while ensuring proper labeling, documentation, and regulatory compliance.</li><li>Verify incoming shipments against manifests and shipping documentation, resolving discrepancies as needed.</li><li>Maintain chemical inventories, cylinder inventories, laboratory supplies, and organized storage areas.</li><li>Operate, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.</li><li>Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment to move drums, containers, and waste materials throughout the facility.</li><li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while complying with OSHA, EPA, RCRA, DOT, and company Health & Safety requirements.</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br>Qualifications<br><ul><li>Associate degree (or two years of college) in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field required.</li><li>0-3 years of laboratory, hazardous waste, environmental, chemical handling, or related experience.</li><li>OSHA 24-Hour certification required.</li><li>Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification required.</li><li>RCRA and DOT training required or the ability to obtain certification.</li><li>Working knowledge of chemistry principles, hazardous waste identification, and chemical compatibility.</li><li>Understanding of hazardous waste regulations, waste profiling, shipping requirements, and environmental compliance.</li><li>Experience performing laboratory sampling, chemical analysis, or waste characterization preferred.</li><li>Strong mathematical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications.</li><li>Experience maintaining accurate documentation and inventory records.</li><li>Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.</li><li>Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.Physical Requirements</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.</li><li>Frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and perform repetitive manual tasks throughout the workday.</li><li>Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment.</li><li>Ability to climb ladders and work around hazardous materials while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).</li><li>Ability to distinguish colors and maintain depth perception for safe chemical identification and handling.</li><li>Ability to work in an industrial environment while following all safety procedures.</li></ul>EEO About Clean Harbors<br><br>Clean Harbors has a commitment to excellence deeply rooted in a strong sense of tradition.
