The Director is responsible for safely moving lubricating oil and specialty products from multiple re-refineries to customer locations and the movement of used motor oil from multiple locations to the re-refineries. Includes paperwork submittal, rail car tracking, assignment of rail STCC codes and WIN WEB system use. Support MIS on WIN system development for optimal rail tracking / management.</li><li>Manage the Company rail fleet efficiently. Controls and adjusts rail carpools as needed within the network. Assigns cars to required locations. Strong knowledge of rail related DOT shipping requirements.</li><li>Controls the lease of rail assets including lease payments and proper fleet size. Obtains and return equipment as needed and in accordance with best financial practices.</li><li>Utilizes the rail assets to drive down transportation costs. Utilizes cycle time reports Rail Pool sizing to ensure highest utilization of rail assets.</li><li>Works directly with respective sales teams to build out solutions for base, blended and byproduct customers.</li><li>Direct interaction with the railroads to obtain pricing, negotiate contracts, develop loading and unloading facilities and reduce demurrage. Supports all rail requests for pricing and project business.</li><li>Daily direct contact with all Clean Harbors rail shipping / receiving facilities to ensure most efficient processes.</li><li>Works with compliance department to ensure safe handling procedures in place for all rail shipments. Investigates and institutes corrective actions as needed.</li><li>May be assigned additional duties not listed above based on business needs.</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business Administration or related required.</li><li>7-10 years of relevant experience.</li><li>Knowledge of RCRA, DOT, & FRA regulations/laws.</li><li>Knowledge of the rail / marine industries.</li><li>Logistics experience.</li><li>Proficiency in Windows based applications.</li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks.</li><li>Good communication (written/verbal) skills.</li><li>Organizational and Interpersonal skills.</li><li>Ability to travel 10-25%.</li></ul><br><strong>40-years of sustainability in action. </strong>At Clean Harbors, our mission is to create a safer, cleaner environment through the treatment, recycling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
