This role is responsible for managing multiple operational areas including drum pumping, drum dumping, tank farm operations, truck loading and offloading, wastewater treatment, fuels blending, and inventory management.<br><br>The Facility Operations Manager I acts as second in command in the absence of the General Manager and plays a key role in driving safety, compliance, operational efficiency, employee development, and facility performance.<br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br>Responsibilities<br><ul><li>Oversee daily plant operations including drum pumping, drum dumping, tank farm operations, truck loading/offloading, wastewater treatment, fuels blending, shredder operations, warehousing, and waste tracking processes</li><li>Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with DOT segregation requirements and facility permits</li><li>Supervise and develop Operations Supervisors, Plant Foremen, and plant operations personnel across multiple shifts and departments</li><li>Monitor waste routing and operational efficiencies to support facility throughput and profitability</li><li>Partner closely with the General Manager on hiring, employee development, performance management, and operational planning</li><li>Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production, safety, and facility performance</li><li>Develop and communicate daily production goals while ensuring execution across operational teams</li><li>Ensure employees follow all Health & Safety policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)</li><li>Maintain ownership of area-specific permit compliance requirements and environmental regulations</li><li>Hold employees accountable for safe work practices and operational expectations</li><li>Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br>Qualifications<br><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related field preferred</li><li>5-7 years of plant operations experience required</li><li>Previous supervisory or management experience in an industrial or hazardous waste environment preferred</li><li>DOT training required</li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills</li><li>Experience with site-specific plant operations including: <br> <ul><li>Drum pumping and drum dumping</li><li>Tank farm operations</li><li>Truck loading/offloading</li><li>Wastewater treatment</li><li>Fuels blending</li><li>Shredder operations</li><li>Inventory and waste tracking systems</li></ul></li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment</li><li>Strong understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and operational procedures</li><li>Ability to work both independently and within a team environment</li><li>Travel up to 10% may be required</li></ul>Physical Requirements<br><ul><li>Ability to stand, walk, climb, stoop, crouch, and lift as needed throughout the workday</li><li>Ability to wear a respirator and pass fit testing requirements</li><li>Ability to work in loud industrial environments</li><li>Must be able to safely perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation</li></ul>EEO Statement<br><br>Clean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer.
