We are seeking a <strong>summer 2026 intern.</strong> As a <strong>Receiving Chemist</strong> Internship at our <strong>EL Dorado, AR</strong> incinerator, you will shadow a Receiving Chemist to learn about receiving, sampling, and analyzing waste from 55-gallon drum shipments within our industrial warehouse facility. Additionally, you will be reviewing and updating documents such as SOPs. You will obtain a broader understanding of the chemical/environmental industry in general as well and learn about the various processes and what it takes to keep our environment clean!<br><br><strong>Wage:</strong> $25hr<br><br><strong>Housing: </strong>Not provided.<br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><ul><li>Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by following all policies, procedures, and always acting in a safe manner</li><li>Learn the use of proper personal protective equipment to sample waste in shipping containers throughout the warehouse and properly track and label the materials as needed</li><li>Shadow other chemists to learn about receiving, sampling and waste analysis.</li><li>Updating SOP documentation</li><li>Other duties as assigned</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><strong>What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?</strong><br><ul><li>Current or recent graduate with a Bachelor's in Chemistry or Environmental sciences preferred</li><li>Advanced chemistry knowledge is a plus</li><li>Proficiency with MS Office - Excel, Work and PowerPoint</li><li>Computer proficiency within a Windows based system</li></ul><br><strong>Clean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer.</strong><br><br><strong>Clean Harbors is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable</strong> accommodation for <strong>individuals</strong> with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.
