This role serves as a front-line leader responsible for overseeing daily operations within one or more departments while ensuring Health & Safety, compliance, and operational excellence are always the top priority. This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who leads by example and thrives in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.<br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><ul><li>Acts as a first-line leader overseeing daily operations of assigned departments within the facility</li><li>Drives a strong safety culture and ensures compliance with all Health & Safety, environmental, and regulatory standards</li><li>Oversees and ensures completion of all required operational paperwork and data entry</li><li>Maintains a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work environment</li><li>Communicates and escalates operational, safety, or compliance concerns to leadership as needed</li><li>Assists with operating light and heavy equipment when required</li><li>Trains, mentors, and supports new and existing employees to ensure safe and efficient operations</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><strong>Qualifications</strong><br><ul><li>High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or some college preferred</li><li>5-7 years of experience in industrial, environmental, or facility operations</li><li>Proven leadership experience in a hands-on operations environment</li><li><strong>Rail experience required</strong></li><li>as drum handling, tank farm operations, truck loading/unloading, or wastewater processing</li><li>Ability to obtain required site-specific certifications</li><li>Strong organizational skills and attention to detail</li><li>Proficient in Windows-based systems and general computer use</li><li>Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative</li></ul><br><strong>Work Environment / Physical Requirements</strong><br><ul><li>Medium work: ability to lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs</li><li>Frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing</li><li>Ability to operate forklifts and heavy equipment as needed</li><li>PPE required up to 75% of the time; respirator use as needed</li><li>Must be able to work in loud industrial environments and maintain situational awareness</li></ul><br><strong>Supervisory Responsibility</strong><br><br>This position provides direct oversight of operational staff and supports hiring, training, scheduling, and performance feedback.<br><br><strong>EEO Statement</strong><br><ul><li>Clean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer.</li><li>Clean Harbors is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.
