The RSO is responsible for providing direction and support for the facility's radiation safety program, along with general Health & Safety (H&S) support for assigned operations. This role provides guidance to management and direction to personnel on implementing Health & Safety programs.<br><br>The RSO will promote continuous safety improvement and serve as the key radiation safety technical expert for the company. This position will also support broader H&S initiatives including safety audits and inspections, record keeping, industrial hygiene monitoring, equipment inspections, safety performance tracking and reporting, training, incident investigations, and program development.<br><br><strong>Salary:</strong> $98,160 to $147,240 based on experience, with opportunity for a 15% bonus<br><br><b>RESPONSIBILITIES</b><br><br><strong>Responsibilities</strong><br><ul><li>Provide radiation consultation services across divisions</li><li>Work closely with managers and personnel to address health and safety concerns and drive program implementation</li><li>Audit compliance with company policies, programs, procedures, and facility permits</li><li>Manage air monitoring and employee exposure assessment programs</li><li>Identify needs for new or updated health and safety programs and assist in development, especially for radiation safety</li><li>Participate in Health & Safety Committees and attend operations meetings to review concerns and support project planning</li><li>Advise and represent the company during regulatory actions</li><li>Review and develop work plans and site-specific safety plans</li><li>Conduct on-site health and safety audits and inspections</li><li>Manage safety equipment inspection and testing programs</li><li>Oversee injury and accident reporting, investigations, and follow-up</li><li>Support preparation of safety work plans, site-specific safety and health plans, and evaluation checklists</li><li>Manage and deliver employee safety training programs</li><li>Respond to emergency situations and provide H&S support during incidents</li><li>Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns in a timely manner, including weekly reporting to management</li></ul><br><br><b>QUALIFICATIONS</b><br><br><strong>Qualifications</strong><br><ul><li>Bachelor's degree or higher in natural or physical science, health physics, radiological sciences, nuclear medicine, or nuclear engineering</li><li>Completion of a structured educational program with classroom training specific to RSO responsibilities</li><li>Strong knowledge of Federal and State Health & Safety regulations</li><li>Ability to travel up to 10%</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)</li><li>Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, make independent decisions, and proactively identify and solve H&S issues</li></ul><strong>Equal Opportunity (EO) Statement</strong><br><br>Clean Harbors is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
